About
Before embarking on a career in health and fitness, David weighed 300 pounds. Over the course of two years, he lost over 100 pounds through a combination of nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle changes. He has maintained that weight loss for over fifteen years.
After becoming a Certified Personal Trainer in 2012, he partnered with a highly respected primary care physician and sports medicine specialist in San Diego to help improve his patients' health outcomes. Many of these patients who worked closely with David were better able to manage - and in some cases reverse - their chronic conditions and reduce their prescription medications. David focused on integrating movement and exercise into their daily routines and nutrition strategies that would allow them to achieve their health goals. These clients overcame obstacles that had previously prevented them from achieving their goals, and developed action plans to manage situations that may derail their progress.
From 2012-2014, David was a professional soccer player, playing for the San Diego Sockers as their reserve goalkeeper. After his second season with the Sockers, he focused on his career in health and fitness to help people make significant changes in their lives to improve their health.
Using the breadth and depth of his life experiences, transforming from obese to athlete, David understands the emotional toll of struggling with weight management and recovering from injuries. His empathetic yet no-nonsense approach to health and fitness, and unconditional positive regard for his clients, is the cornerstone of his training style and philosophy.
In 2019, David opened his first brick & mortar location. In addition to working with clients, David is a professional fitness writer, conditioning coach and player for the San Diego Sparks Soccer Club, and has served on the San Diego Mesa College Personal Training Program Advisory Board since 2020. In 2022, David relocated to Vancouver, Washington. In addition to improving the health and fitness of his clients, he is also the captain and goalkeeper for Vancouver’s new semi-pro indoor soccer club, Vancouver Lightning.
With more than a decade of experience, over 10,000 training sessions delivered and helping hundreds of clients improve their physical health, David continues to be a lifelong learner and constantly seeks new ways to help his clients become the healthiest, most vibrant versions of themselves. His dedication to continuing education ensures that he is able to provide clients with the latest tools and techniques for success.
“My goal is to help clients build strength and resiliency from the inside out. Whether through education, motivation, shifts in perspective, accountability, or learning to move without pain, I work in collaboration with clients to help them navigate obstacles and remove barriers that prevent them from achieving their goals. I am passionate about helping my clients lead their lives unencumbered by their physical health, and I strive to empower them to take control of their own well-being.” -David
